Microsoft is winding down the days to next week’s full launch of Windows 11. From October 5, the new generation of Windows will begin reaching users worldwide through a staged launch. Microsoft is finalizing the previews of native Windows 11 apps with new design, and that will include a new Media Player for the platform. We have already seen Microsoft debut a new Paint app, while this week the new Photos and Clock experiences moved to the release preview channel. Next up is the new Media Player, which has been spotted by the folks at Windows Latest this week. Specifically, the new player was seen on a recent episode of the Windows Insider webcast. So, at this moment it is a teaser but we could see the full app when Windows 11 launches. It is worth noting Microsoft is now making the video private on YouTube, so perhaps this was more leak than tease. Either way, the Media Player app will allow users on Windows 11 to play movies, TV shows, videos, and music. Details Microsoft has not said whether this will be an overhaul of the Movies & TV application or a new app in its own right. It is worth remembering Microsoft has not confirmed this app yet. That many mean the full launch will be delayed and not be available when Windows 11 rolls out next week. Still, it is obvious Microsoft is working on something related to playing media on the new platform. As well as new native apps, Windows 11 will add Android app support, a new Microsoft Store, integrated Microsoft Teams, a new design, and much more. Microsoft will also launch its new hardware alongside the platform, the Surface Pro 8 and Surface Laptop Studio.

A Windows Insider video has seemingly showed the new Windows 11 Media Player that could launch on the platform next week.
